we are so cool

we are so cool that we got photo passes to shoot the avett brothers in savannah, ga.

we are so cool that we drove 4 hours there and 4 hours back in the same night which put us home at 3 am. true rock stars.

we are so cool that when we arrived, we grabbed our fancy cameras and our move-to-the-front-of-the-line photo passes and marched to the stage.

we are so cool that we didn’t even care when security informed us we could only stay and shoot for the first 3 songs.

3 songs equal approximately 12 minutes and in that amount of time, with those unfamiliar lighting conditions, i could barely get my settings in order.

yes, we drove 8 hours roundtrip to shoot for 12 minutes and we would do it again in a second. it was SO much fun! when we got home we were tired but grateful. and we learned a lot. mainly, that the avett brothers are cool. and us? yeah, not so cool.

My husband, brothers and I were at this show on the front row (not the presale section though). Those security guards were jerks on a power trip. You are definitely cool to get these gorgeous shots, especially under the circumstances. What a great night of beautiful, energetic and sweaty music! :)

NICE! They’re all amazing, but I love the first and fifth ones from the top. Just being a fantastic photographer makes you cool, but getting to shoot the Avett Brothers? It simply means there’s no question as to whether or not you’re cool : )

These turned out great. I’m sorry if the allowances caused a problem. It’s different show to show and I’m assuming that since they are on a major label things aren’t as loose and free as the past. Either way, incredible work.

you guys rocked out the 12 minutes for sure!!!

These are phenomenal, and I’m glad you kept shooting after the first 12 minutes! I almost DIED when they rocked out at the end of PG from Chile. Seth was like Animal on the drums! You captured that perfectly. Thanks for sharing.

Phenomenal pictures, I really wanted to go to this show but couldn’t make it, thanks for letting me live semi-vicariously through your work.

You barely had time to get your camera settings right? Um, I’m not buying that one! :) These are fantastic!

annie - June 19, 2010 - 8:31 am

did you get sweat on by them? ;o) That first Joe pictures and the Scott series are my favorites. Nicely done 12 minutes, my friends, what a fun experience!

Wow! Those are fantastic! I am so jealous!! That would be so awesome. You really got some great shots in 12 minutes. Hope they opened with 3 good songs :)

Cool pictures by cool people on both sides of the camera. 12 minutes? Really? You got all that in 12 minutes? Amazing Jen and Chris!
