this is the anatomy of a not-so-perfect photo shoot with nearly perfect children.
it started the day she was born. i couldn’t wait to capture the moment that addie and ty laid eyes on their new sister for the very first time. i just knew there would be squealing and smiling and palpable excitement. instead, I got this.
clearly, he was hoping for a little brother.
and then drew had her first visit to my house and of course, i wanted to snap a picture or two. now, it's possible that she's crying because she just doesn't like my place but my guess would be that she just heard her brother rudely announce that eeeww, she smells like pee.
her mommy tried to rock her and her sister tried to kiss her quiet, but she was not a happy girl.
after some serious convincing, she finally fell asleep.
perfection. except that after only 5 clicks of my shutter, we saw a flash of light and it didn't come from my camera.
aaaand end scene. so we tried again the following day. the sun was shining and drew was sleeping so i began to prep addie and ty. ok, ty, we're going to put the baby in addie's lap and then i'd love for you to kiss your sister. he giggled the kind of giggle that makes me think he's up to something.
no, no, not THAT sister! that kind of funny of course, starts this...
and leads to this..
ok, you two, enough with the kissyface, we're bringing your sister over and she's sleeping so we've got to be quick. got it? got it. wait, what's so funny? addie: drew just pooted on me.
oh, good grief. hurry ty, kiss her head.
and baby drew is crying, again.
so while mama quieted her, we checked the light at our next spot.
this is ty being a good listener and this is addie practicing for her american idol audition. ((notice the microphone in her hand.))
this is addie telling ty his breath stinks
this is ty retaliating by rubbing his boy germs all over her.
alright guys, we're going to hand the baby to you..ready? addie, what's wrong?
she's pulling my haiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrr!!!!!! and after big sister busted her left eardrum, little sister is crying.
ty tried showing drew how easy it was to just lie on the stumps that were used at her woodland themed baby shower, but she didn't want any part of it.
what about a chair? would you be more comfortable in a chair?

I was laughing out loud….you are hysterical! Ty and Addie are so grown up, adorable and funny! And, precious Drew….well, just precious and perfect! My congrats to Kristen and the whole family!! Thank you for your wonderful posts, pictures and for making me laugh!
